The Scottish Seed Stand Project

We are currently working on a consultancy project exploring the potential benefits of local provenance seed stands for montane and pioneer tree species in Scotland. This work for Woodland Trust Scotland, is being carried out in partnership with Sarah Watts.

Native Tree Seed Collections

This autumn we have been collecting common alder, hazel, downy birch and dwarf birch. We are excited to be working with both Forestry and Land Scotland, and Elsoms Trees. A winter of holly, juniper and yew lies ahead!

Thanks to the NatureScot team at Beinn Eighe NNR, we recently collected seed from rock whitebeam on the Loch Maree Islands. This seed will be used locally by NatureScot and Forestry and Land Scotland.
